Who is responsible

What is collected

The audit form. Your name, business name and email address, plus optionally your phone number, website, and whatever you write about how your business runs. The only required fields are name, business, email and the consent tick — everything else you can leave blank.

Email you send me. If you write to me directly instead of using the form, I hold that email and my reply to it on the same terms as everything else here.

Basic traffic data. Aggregate, privacy-friendly analytics: which pages were visited, from which country, on what kind of device. No cookies are set for it, no individual is identified, and no profile is built. There is no advertising and no cross-site tracking on this site.

Fonts. The typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts, so loading a page sends your IP address and browser details to Google the way any embedded file would. Google states that it sets no cookies for this and does not use the requests for advertising. It is the one third-party request the site makes, and it is listed here because a privacy policy that leaves one out is not worth reading.

Why, and what happens to it

Form submissions are delivered to my email inbox through Web3Forms, which passes the message on and does not use it for anything else. I use what you write to prepare your audit and to reply to you. That is the only purpose it has.

Writing to me directly reaches the same inbox, which is Gmail. If having your message sit with Google is a problem for you, say so in the first line and we will find another way to talk.

Ticking the consent box tells me I may email you about the audit you asked for — the follow-up questions and the finished document. That is the only thing it covers. You are not added to a mailing list and you will not get marketing from me. One line asking me to stop is enough, and I will confirm it. If I ever want to send you anything beyond the audit you asked for, I will ask you separately first.

What is not done

Your information is not sold, rented or shared with anyone for their own purposes, and it is not combined with data bought from anywhere else. I do put it through AI tools when I am drafting your audit — on paid business plans whose terms say the content is not used for training — and I strip names and identifying details before it goes in. If you would rather I did not use one at all on your material, say so and I won't.

How long it is kept

Form submissions and the emails that follow are kept for up to two years so a conversation can be picked back up, then deleted. If we work together, project records are kept for as long as Canadian tax and business record rules require.

Where it lives

This site is served from Cloudflare's network, its fonts come from Google, and form submissions pass through Web3Forms into Gmail. All of those providers may process data outside Canada, which means it can be subject to the laws of other countries. I have named every one of them rather than saying "trusted third parties", because that phrase tells you nothing.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you can ask what I hold about you, ask for a copy, ask me to correct it, and ask me to delete it. Email me and I will answer within thirty days at the outside, usually the same week. There is no charge for any of that.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS only. The form has spam protection. I do not store credit card details, and I never ask for a password by email — if you ever get a message from me that does, it is not from me.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date below changes with it. This version: September 2026.
